Bandar Lampung, (Potensinews.id) – Head of the Department of International Relations (HI) FISIP Unila Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A received a decree letter as a professor from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A has now officially received the title of Professor in the field of Political Science, focusing on gender and politics starting from December 1, 2022.
“The decree was dated January 3, starting from December 1, 2022,” said Prof. Ari when met in her office, Thursday (12/1)
Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A explained, that if the stages was clear with any obstacles, the process can be faster in just one year.
“The process, if it is counted from the beginning, is almost 3 years, because there have been several reviews. It is common to be reviewed, there are deficiencies and some letter errors. Without the review process, it might be completed in a year,” she said.
According to her, the error occurred in the senate recommendation letter. It was written the science field is an introduction to political science, whereas the truth is political science. However, dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A did not realize the mistake for more than a year
“The field of knowledge was an introduction to Political Science, whereas it should be political science. Meanwhile Introductory political science is one of a lesson. But I did not know about that before, I thought it was only commented on additional credit, but it turned out to be corrected. I was more than a year to aware that,” she explained.
Then, the second obstacle faced by Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A, was several articles were not accepted because they were considered plagiarism. In fact, most of the articles that were considered plagiarism came from her own dissertation articles.
In addition, several of his popular scientific articles were rejected because they had already been published in newspapers. Forced, Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A reviewed a new article.
“Plagiarism is not allowed even if it’s one’s own. Even though not all of it was taken; half from the newspaper articles, half from presentations at various seminars. Rejected, all were not given value. Finally, I reviewed the new ones,” she explained.
Not only those obstacles, the trials came one after another to test the patience of this woman who likes traveling. How could she not, she still has to accept the failure of the scientific work she compiled.
“Then, one journal that I wrote when I was in my doctoral degree was not questioned before, then be questioned. Because the rules for the study period were 50 credits for the dissertation. It was considered only a test requirement. So, it was rejected, then I corrected it again,” she said.
Complete these requirements, Dr. Ari Darmastuti, M.A immediately caught up on credit by trying to add to the predetermined credits, and finishing it to the final stage
“I hope this is the last reviewed, not to be returned again. The last proposal requested 51 credits, I sent 58 more plus a correction letter to the senate. After recalculating it turned out that there were only 5 more. Thank God it was enough,”
“Well, the Senate correction letter was actually very fast. The repair proposal was sent in November, in December it was already issued. The 3 revisions were about 2 more years. But thank God it’s finished,” she said.(Virgo)
